

The Wesley Porirua team works hard to grow the capacity of the local community to ensure Porirua is a good place to live. We work closely with many local agencies and support a wide variety of community driven initiatives.
The Wesley Porirua team offer a comprehensive, range of community based services. These include advocacy, counselling, a food bank and parenting services, social work services, youthwork and individual mentoring.

We also host a popular free Recreation Programme open to all young people, every Tuesday night from 6pm – 9pm in the Cannons Creek Opportunity Centre, 4 Mentor Lane (upstairs by The Cage) and every Thurday night at the Ratana Hall, 4 Loonganna St., Waitangirua.
Our Foodbank is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. All who need them are welcome to food parcels. If a person is experiencing ongoing difficulties our volunteer advocates are able to help them explore why this might be happening and possible solutions.
The Porirua based Good Cents initiative aims to help families struggling under the burden of high interest rates and debt through a combination of discussion groups, budgeting and even debt restructuring where this is apporpriate and possible.
