Based on many years of practical experience implementing ‘Strength Based’, ‘Client Led’ and ‘Community Led’ work,  Wesley offers training and consultation in PCOMS and Strength Based practice by an accredited trainer.

Wesley has implemented a range of  ‘Client Led’ tools to inform our practice and offers training for other interested organisations  interested in learning more about Strength Based practice.

Wesley also offers accredited training in the ‘Partners for Change Outcome Management System’ (PCOMS).

Workshops we offer

“From Strength to Strength”

A two day workshop that outlines the principles of the Strength Based Framework and helps strengthen practical skills to give effect to this approach.

This course covers:

  • The dynamics of workers “colonising’ clients and how to avoid this
  • Reframing issues and problems and remaining true to the clients experience
  • Incorporating the clients ‘Theory of Change’ at all aspects of the relationship
  • Helping the client identify exceptions (when the problem is less or not there) and how to apply these to other problems
  • The critical importance of noticing and measuring change
  • A four column approach to planning with the client that incorporates all of the two days learnings.

Partners for Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS)

A two day workshop that equips participants to get on-going feedback from clients to lift outcomes.   Overwhelming international research has identified that the key predictors for good client outcomes are based on the alliance (or relationship)  between worker and client. This workshop provides training on the only on going consumer rated and driven outcome management system, that is supported by over nine random clinical trials in the USA and Norway. Over the two days participants will;

  • Be introduced to the international research that supports what is now called Practice Based Evidence, and how to ensure the predictors are monitored regularly.
  • Learn how to introduce the ORS and SRS into their on going work with clients
  • Learn how to modify and align their work based on the clients understanding of their issues, ensure the clients voice is privileged throughout all interactions and support their theory of change
  • Learn how to measure change and engage with the client in a truly client driven way
