How do I include Wesley Community Action in my will?
There are various ways to leave a gift in your will and you can make sure that your loved ones are looked after before leaving a gift to Wesley Community Action. Here are the different ways you can choose to support Wesley Community Action through your estate:
- Residuary bequest – this is when you leave a percentage of your estate after all other expenses, debts and other specific bequests have been settled;
- Pecuniary bequest- this is when you choose to leave a specific sum;
- Specified bequest – this is when you choose to leave a particular item in your will, for example, art, jewellery, stocks, shares or even property. If you are interested in leaving a particular item to us, please contact us first so that we can ensure that we’re able to use the item as you would wish.
Here is some example wording that you could use:
“I give to Wesley Community Action ___% of my estate OR the rest and residue of my estate OR the sum of $_____ OR [details of specific item] for its general purposes free of probate and estate duties payable upon or in consequence of my death. I declare that the receipt of its Executive Director, Treasurer or other authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.”
