How does the Hauora Kai Co-op work?

We buy fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables from local suppliers and growers every week. Because we buy them in bulk we get them for a good price. That means we can sell them to our members for much less than they would cost in a supermarket.

The fruit and vegetables for the Hauora Kai Co-op are delivered to our packing hub in Waitangirua on Tuesday morning where our wonderful volunteers pack them into individual, Co-op-owned chilly bags. They’re then delivered to 5 pick-up points in Cannons Creek, Waitangirua and Whitby.

You bring your own bag to your chosen pick-up point and transfer your produce from the chilly bag into your own bag to take home.

What does it cost and what do I get?

For just $12 you get:

  • seasonal fruit (3 to 4 varieties)
  • seasonal veges (3 to 5 varieties)

When do I have to order by?

You order and pay for your pack a week in advance.  You must pay by 4pm on Thursday to pick up a pack on the following Tuesday.

How do I pay?

You’ll need to sign up using the Join Now form before you can start buying packs, so we have all your details and we know where you want to pick your pack up from.

The easiest way to pay is by internet banking.

Pay into this account:  Wellington Mission 03-0558-0023973-08

Please include the following details in your transaction:

  • Code: First name and Last name (e.g. Ally Best)
  • Particulars: Number of Packs (eg 1xPack)

We recommend setting up an automatic payment of $12 a week, but you don’t have to order every week – it’s entirely up to you how often you order.
