Whānau Worker – Family Start, Social Worker or similar tertiary qualification
We’re looking for a whānau worker to join our Family Start team, supporting whānau who want to give their tamariki the best start in life. Our whānau workers provide free parenting support to anyone who needs it. They work alongside whānau in their own home, supporting them to identify their strengths as parents and working with them on changes they want to make.

Why work with us?

Our kaimahi (staff) bring Wesley Community Action to life. They get ‘right in there’ with every individual they work with and every whānau they walk alongside.

Our kaimahi are very loyal – many have worked with us for more than 20 years and some come back after testing the waters elsewhere. For some of them, what appeals is our respectful and open work environment. For others, it’s the fact that we’re prepared to undertake take brave and often innovative initiatives. The most recent example of this is our six-month pilot of Te Wiki Wēteri – our version of the 4-day week.
